The United States has many holidays that highlight its diverse background and important moments in history, as well as non-Federal holidays. Federal holidays like New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas each have their own special customs and events that people observe or celebrate. For instance, Independence Day on July 4th celebrates the country's declaration of freedom with fireworks and additional events. Meanwhile, people who celebrate Thanksgiving, which takes place on the fourth Thursday of November, express thankfulness and get together with family over a special meal. Also, courteous or religious holidays, such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Hanukkah display the country’s dedication to celebrating

growth and the ongoing expression of positivity that derives from stable reasoning and teamwork, along with the vibrant diversity present in a nation that will soon be 250 years old.
