Understanding After Prakriti Determination
The following link will explain more about determining prakriti: Determining Body Nature or Prakriti in Ayurveda.
In Ayurveda, the body's nature is called prakriti.
According to Ayurveda, prakriti is inherent in the individual, determined at birth.
Each individual holds a unique composition or portion of the doshas: vata, pitta, and kapha.
Two of the five elements that are predominant will determine prakriti, which are either:
Vata dosha composition
Air or Vayu and Ether or Akash predominance.
Descriptors- promotes mobility or movement of the body, physiological and psychological swiftness and a thin or underweight body type.
Pitta dosha composition
Fire or Agni and Water or Jal predominance.
Descriptors- promotes transformation, digestion, metabolism, hasty temperament, oleaginous skin, and a lean and muscular, athletic or moderate weight body type.
Kapha dosha composition
Earth or Prithvi and Water or Jal predominance.
Descriptors- promotes or establishes support in the body, stability, lubrication in the body, a reserved or calm temperament, and a curvy, fullness in form or plus-size body type.
Conclusion
Prakriti signifies differences between one individual and another.
Each individual has different physiological and psychological functions.
Once a person understands their body's characteristics, they can better figure out their
body type or nature, called prakriti. In Ayurveda, this knowledge helps keep both
personal and interpersonal health in balance. Also, being aware of prakriti can assist
in assessing, diagnosing, treating illnesses, and making better food choices through professional guidance. The concept of prakriti in Ayurveda is unique compared to
other healthcare systems.
